These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Patente app, developed by DevsLoom for BongoItalia ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. What Patente Is
Patente is a study aid to help you prepare for the theory exam for the Italian driving license. It includes practice quizzes ("Quiz Ministeriale"), a study plan ("Sfida Giornaliera"), an e-book, a vocabulary trainer, and related tools.
Patente is an independent product of BongoItalia and DevsLoom. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Ministero delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti, the Motorizzazione Civile, or any other Italian government body. Official exam questions can change; while we work to keep our content accurate and up to date, we cannot guarantee that every question or answer matches the current official exam bank at all times, and using the app does not guarantee that you will pass the official exam.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding agreement to use Patente. In Italy, the driving theory exam process typically begins at age 17½ with a learner's permit ("foglio rosa"); the app is not intended for young children, and we do not knowingly register accounts for anyone under 14, the minimum age to independently consent to data processing under Italy's implementation of the GDPR.
3. Your Account
- You must provide accurate registration information (name, email, phone number, and the other profile details the app asks for) and verify your phone number via the one-time OTP code we send you.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
- Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
4. Premium Features and Access
Some parts of the app — the e-book, the daily study plan, the game mode, and difficult-quiz PDF export — are limited to accounts with an active enrollment or authorization on our backend, for example students enrolled in an in-person or online course with BongoItalia.
Patente does not sell subscriptions, upgrades, or unlock codes inside the app, and there is no in-app payment or checkout of any kind. If you reach a locked feature, the app will offer you a way to contact our support team directly (via WhatsApp or phone); access, where applicable, is granted or reviewed by us outside the app based on your enrollment status, not purchased through app store billing.
5. Acceptable Use
When using Patente, you agree not to:
- Copy, scrape, redistribute, or resell the quiz content, e-book, or other study materials outside the app;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app, or attempt to bypass its access controls;
- Share your account with people it wasn't issued to, or use the app to help someone impersonate another user;
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in a way that disrupts its normal operation for other users.
6. Intellectual Property
The app, its design, and its content — including quiz questions and explanations, the e-book, illustrations, and the Patente name and logo — belong to BongoItalia/DevsLoom or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app and its content for your own exam preparation. This license ends if you stop using the app or if we terminate your account under these Terms.
7. Your Content and Progress Data
Your quiz answers, favorites, saved vocabulary, and study progress are yours to track and delete. We store and sync this data as described in our Privacy Policy, and it is saved locally on your device first, then synced to our servers when you're online.
8. Third-Party Services
Patente relies on third-party infrastructure — Google Firebase (authentication, sync, analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring) and OneSignal (push notifications) — to operate. Their processing of your data is described in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for outages or issues originating from these third-party providers, though we work to minimize their impact on your experience.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Patente is provided "as is." We work to keep quiz content, translations, and app functionality accurate and reliable, but we do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its content will always exactly match the official exam. You are responsible for verifying critical information (such as current traffic law) against official sources before relying on it for your exam.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, BongoItalia and DevsLoom are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including a failed exam attempt, lost study progress due to factors outside our reasonable control (such as an uninstalled app that never synced), or third-party service interruptions. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable Italian or EU law.
11. Suspension and Termination
You can stop using the app at any time and request deletion of your account and data as described in our Delete Account Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, misuse the app, or pose a security risk to other users, with notice where reasonably possible.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. For material changes, we'll notify you through an in-app notice or a notification before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the app will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Italy, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country of residence.
